How Waste is Calculated without knowing Cuts or Seams

This estimate is based on material numbers and does not consider seams or cuts. THIS WILL AFFECT YOUR ESTIMATE COST. Your flooring salesman should also be able to show you where and why that has occurred. Windows, traffic patterns or room shapes will effect how seams are laid out.

How I configured this, based on my time as a flooring salesman I’ve noticed that for most rooms you will have about an % percentage of waste. This can change with larger spaced like a basement. Look at these images below, they showcase how a six different room dimensions all equal to about the same waste factor, but since every home is different this can’t be a guarantee without measuring in person first.
